Step 1: Trace each side of your vase to be covered onto the scrapbook paper and cut out each side as shown to the left. |
Step 2: Temporarily place each piece onto the vase to make sure the paper fits properly. Trim any excess paper at this time to make a perfect fit. |
Step 3: Cover the vase in Mod Podge or a similar adhesive material. Then attach the scrapbook paper onto the vase and let dry. |
Step 4: After all four sides of the vase have been covered and dried completely, you should have something that looks like this. |
Step 5: Next, apply another coat of Mod Podge to the outside of the paper to give a nice finish (if you use glossy Mod Podge, it will give you vase a nice shine).
Step 6: Next, take some yarn, rope or other decorative string and measure pieces to cover the seams where the paper doesn't meet perfectly. |
Step 7: Using hot glue or your favorite adhesive, attach the pieces of string to the vase as shown. |
Step 8: Trim away any excess pieces of string. |
Step 9: Take another piece of string and wrap around the middle of the vase. |
Step 10: Tie a knot tightly around the vase, or make a decorative bow. You can also use a little hot glue to keep the accent string in the middle of the vase without sliding down. |
Step 11: Continue along the top of the vase using the same technique. |
Step 12: Attach the string to the top of the vase to give a nice, even and uniform look. |
Step 13: Once everything dries, you can add a live or silk plant to your vase and have a unique vase unlike anything else in the world! |
