How to make this beautiful card craft - "I Count You Twice" thinking of you card...

(The finished product)

card making craft project

Supplies Needed:

- A standard letter-sized cardstock paper (I chose black)
- A few other papers to layer on your card (I chose printed vintage red, gold foil cardstock and bright red cardstock); make sure your colors coordinate well.
- Double-faced scrapbooking tape
- A rubber stamp with a quote – I am using “When I count my blessings I count you twice” from Stampabilities
- A corner punch – I am using 4-sided punch from Fiskars
- A paper cutter
- A pencil
- A stamping pad – I am using the black Anna Griffin ink pad

Here's how to make this cute card making craft project:

Step 1: Here are the supplies I am using.

Step 2: Cut your base paper in half widthwise and fold it in half, making sure you crease the folded edge.

Step 3: Your prepared base should look like this.

Step 4: Pick out the paper for your first layer, measure dimensions of your folded base and cut you first layer to be ¼ inch shorter than the base as it relates to length and width. My base card is 5 ½” by 4 ¼”, so I cut my first layer to measure 5 ¼” by 4”.

Step 5: Adhere your first layer to the base making sure that the distance from the edge of the base to the edge of the layer is the same on all 4 sides. It should look as shown on the picture.

Step 6: Cut a strip of a different color coordinating paper to again be approximately 1/8” shorter on 3 sides to cover half of the previous layer as shown; mine measures 5” by 2 1/8”.

Step 7: Adhere the next layer onto the previous layer on the opening side of the card.

Tip: you don’t have to put solid strips of tape on your paper – a few short strips around the edges and a couple in the middle will suffice.

Step 8: This is what your card should look like at this point.

Step 9: Making the embellishment. Take the remaining piece of your base cardstock and cut a rectangle that measures approximately 2 ½ “ by 3”, then take a piece of other layering paper in the color that you haven’t used yet (bright red in my case) and using the same method as in step 4 to layer the card, cut it about 1/8” shorter than the last  piece you prepared on all 4 sides and adhere it to that piece, again leaving the same amount of space on all sides between the edges of your base piece and the edges of your smaller piece. Look at how my embellishment matches my base.

Tip: if you are not confident that you can coordinate colors well, you can buy packages of coordinating papers.

Step 10: Ink rubber stamp generously, until imprint is fully covered and stamp your embellishment. Let stamped image dry for about a minute to be sure you don’t smear it.

Step 11: This is what your stamped embellishment should look like.

Step 12: Using your corner punch, adorn the corners of the embellishment.

Step 13: This is how the finished embellishment looks.

Step 14: Adhere your embellishment to the card. You’re all done!
